Tan Jee Say not of Permanent Secretary calibre: SM Goh

Dear SM Goh,

I refer to the 1 May 2011 Straits Times report of your comments on your former principal private secretary.

You said you didn’t think that Mr Tan would make it as a permanent secretary and so he resigned from the civil service. Your comments are uncalled for and what you think may not be what the people think.

You were also not MM Lee’s choice candidate for PM yet your peers chose you. This goes to show that even if your boss didn’t think highly of you, it doesn’t mean that you can’t do the job.

That’s an excellent rebuttal. Goh himself forgot that. What a joke.
